I asked Dr. Strauss if I could follow him, he is an older guy, probably in his 50s, who always wears cool clothes, has his hair slicked back, and seems pretty buff for a guy his age. He said he would but not that night because his voice was almost gone, and to try again some other time. I worked up the courage to ask Dr. Ellis and she gladfully said to no problem. There was a patient who had a dizzy spell, 2 patients who had chest pain, a woman suspected to have MRSA, and a pregnant 17 year old who was spotting. I'll elaborate on each case later. It was a very fun night. A nurse got a really good looking carry out dish from a chinese place. She said it was "Singapore Chow Mein Fun". I want it.
Also, wanted to put down some notes that I took from when I followed Dr. Frizner two weekends ago.
Diaphoresis = sweating
PET scan - sugar metabolism. Cancer cells light up, need biopsy.
Arterial blood gas
Metastisized - means the cancer has spread
Albumin - protein
Sarcoma - cancer that starts in the muscle
Banana Bag - Sodium Chloride with a bright yellow color, used to sober up drunks. Whenever you see one, you know someone was having a good time.
Also here is a chart that he writes down on each patient's paper:
